Firefighters faced another day of high fire activity in California with triple digit temperatures, low humidity, gusty winds and dry lightning.
This evening, 8,000 firefighters are battling 18 large wildfires currently burning in California, including several that are on the National Forest and nearing full containment.A Red Flag Warning has been issued along the North Coast by the National Weather Service for dry thunderstorms and gusty winds. Fire danger is elevated even higher in the area with the risk of lightning sparked wildfires.
While conditions will begin to cool down, Friday will still be very warm with low afternoon humidity levels.
