Mountain thunderstorms will continue through today with little rain which could spark fire starts from dry lightning strikes. Evening thunderstorms will shift northward late in the night, putting Northern California at risk for new lightning fire starts. A Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect across the northern part of the state due to the dry thunderstorms and gusty winds.
As many of you go outdoors to enjoy the summer weather, CAL FIRE cautions all Californians and visitors to be extra careful outdoors as it doesn't take much to spark a wildfire. One Less Spark, means One Less Wildfire. Learn more at www.ReadyForWildfire.org.
