August 26, 2015 - CAL FIRE reports this morning over 10,000 firefighters are battling 16 active wildfires across California. Crews continue to make good progress on control lines of these fires and have succeed at rapidly containing new fires.
Normal to above normal temperatures will continue across much of California through the remainder of the week. However, a cooling trend is expected this weekend for many areas, along with the possibility of rain over portions of the fires currently burning in the northern part of the state.
CAL FIRE recommends that all residents be prepared for wildfire by remembering “Ready, Set, Go!” This also means having a plan in place for all of your family members, including the four-legged kind. Be sure to locate them and keep them close, so when it comes time to evacuate, they will also be ready to “Go!” Learn more about evacuating at www.ReadyForWildfire.org.
