October 3, 2015 - Mariposa County Public Information Officer Kristie Mitchell provided a Friday evening update on the condition of the injured Mariposa County Deputy.

Mariposa County Public Information Officer Kristie Mitchell said, "We are still not releasing his name as of right now. As of 5:00 P.M. on Friday afternoon the deputy is still listed in “Critical” condition. He is able to respond to voice commands and make eye contact with visitors."

Kristie Mitchell also said, "We have had many staff members there with him and his family round the clock.  We have received an overwhelming amount of support during this time, it seems as though every law enforcement agency in the state has reached out to us to help, console, support, or just show up. The main office has had a steady flow of community members walking in asking for updates, dropping off cards or just wanting to say a few words, the Sheriff’s Office can’t thank everyone enough."

Also the Mariposa Deputy Sheriff's Association has established an account at West America Bank for the injured deputy.
