2014 Holiday Dinner

Wow, fall has arrived and it’s time to start planning Holiday events!  Members of the Coulterville Community Club are inventorying supplies and compiling a list of all of the foodstuffs and supplies needed for this year’s Holiday Dinner, scheduled for Saturday, December 19th, 2015 at the Old Schoolhouse.

Around 350 meals will be prepared.  This is a community event, with most of the turkeys, hams, sides and desserts created by community members using their favorite family recipes.  Even folks who cannot participate contribute, picking something up during the great Pre and post Thanksgiving sales while doing their own shopping.

We have some new folks taking on key planning roles this year. Shirley Husted is taking community member’s calls for both volunteers and donations.  Call her at: 209-852-2100 or email her at: goldenstatemod@yahoo.com and let her know what you plan on donating and if you are able to either cook something in advance that someone else has donated or want to help the day of the event.

Shirley will be working with Lisa Kingman, who will be coordinating the food and other items, so please give Shirley your contact information in case Lisa needs to follow-up. The “shopping list” is long at this point…we need hams, turkeys, sweet potatoes, breads, cranberry sauce, paper goods, beverages, and desserts.  CCC Dinner Chairperson, Kamarah Guerrero, hopes that community members will “pull out one of their old family pie or other desert recipes and make something to share that their own family always looks forward to.”

Christmas In Coulterville Takes Place on Saturday, December 19th

The CCC’s Holiday dinner is a cornerstone of Christmas in Coulterville. But there are many other activities beginning with the Rebekah’s Holiday themed Breakfast from 8 – 11 a.m., Santa’s arrival at noon down Main St and stopping at the Firehouse for the Fire Brigade’s Gift Giveaway, the History Center’s Holiday Bazaar from 10 to 4 p.m., the CCC’s Holiday dinner from 1- 4 p.m. and the Gold Country Singers Free Holiday Performance at 4 p.m.  There will likely be a story telling hour added before the date arrives!
