March 29, 2024 - Modoc County Sheriff’s Office officials report Sheriff Deputies and Sheriff’s Posse rescued an Arkansas man and his dog from a remote part of Modoc County yesterday afternoon.

The man had been without food or water for 3 days after being abandoned by the people he was staying with. Yesterday morning the man walked to a location where he could get cell service and called for help. Neither the man nor his dog required medical attention.

The Modoc County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank Full Throttle in Alturas for dropping what they were doing to put the tracks on our ATV’s so quickly. It’s definitely a team effort in small rural counties.
