Stanislaus National Forest Public Information Officer Rebecca Garcia said the Montgomery Fire as of this morning was 50% contained at 79 acres with a complete dozer line around the fire.
This fire is located near Texas Hill Road, Halls Gulch and Montgomery Gulch.
The fire was called in by air support from the Meadow Fire in Yosemite National Park as they were heading to refuel at around 4:27 P.M. on Sunday, September 7, 2014.
A Type 3 Incident Team is over the fire and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
