The Mariposa County Arts Council held a fundraiser on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the Charles Street Dinner House. 

Although the weather was rainy, it did not deter a large crowd to come out and enjoy a delicious meal and a delightful evening, said Arts Council Executive Director, Cara Goger.

Owner Raymond Newman graciously offered to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales for that day in order to support projects of the Mariposa County Arts Council, in particular the summer art and music day camp.

The day’s receipts totaled slightly over $600 and will directly benefit the youth of Mariposa County.

Prior to enjoying a dinner at Charles Street Dinner House, Arts Council members and guests enjoyed a reception at the Arts Council’s Treetop Gallery featuring new art work by local artists as well as photographs and videos created by participants of the F/Stop digital photography workshops.  F/Stop is a lifespan-learning program offered by the Arts Council and consists of a series of free, 4-week and 5-week digital photography classes focused on the artistic elements of photography and is designed to promote creativity, self-expression, and increase comfort with digital technology.
