Soroptimist International of Mariposa has installed into its Club Arin Debberand Christy Wall as new members.  Soroptimist International of Mariposa is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas.  Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., Soroptimist improves the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.  Its major program, the Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Awards, provides cash grants for women seeking to improve their lives with the help of additional education and training.  

Since 1972, this award-winning program has disbursed more than $25 million to tens of thousands of women, helping them to achieve their educational goals. Soroptimist International of Mariposa raises funds for the benefit of local service projects, scholarships, youth groups, search and rescue efforts, and many other vital community services. Most recent recipients include Manna House, Heritage House, Elegant Dress Closet Project, and Ethos Youth Center.  Soroptimist continues to be a major contributor/sponsor for Mountain Crisis Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping domestic violence victims in Mariposa County.
