On Saturday, October 29, The California State Mining and Mineral Museum, at Mariposa County Fairgrounds, will stay open until 7:00 p.m., and admission is free from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The Halloween spirit has possessed California State Mining and Mineral Museum, at Mariposa County Fairgrounds.  Come explore the haunted mine tunnel, if you dare.

Miners have always believed that mines are the home of ghosts and spirits. During the month of October, the ghosts, goblins and Tommyknockers have come to roost at the Museum.

The Mine Tunnel will be occupied by these spirits from October 13, through October 30th, 2016.  The Museum is normally open Thursday – Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.  Docents will be on hand to give guided Museum tours.  Of course there will be candy for the kids.

Don’t forget the Museum Gift Shop for holiday gifts, books and mineral specimens.
