Sierra Foothill Charter School utilizes the Character Counts! program. It focuses on six words that neatly summarize common values: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. These words are called the six pillars of character.
SFCS-0408The Character Counts! six pillars of character.
SFCS-char-counts-2Last Friday, staff, including teachers Wendy Baumann, Chivonne Wilde, and Teena Starchman, and Aide Andrea Contreras, kicked off this year's Character Counts! program with an assembly full of fun skits demonstrating the six pillars of character.

For the month of September, SFCS is working with students on the pillar Respect. Throughout the month, students will be participating in activities that explore what this word means. Every Wednesday, students and staff are encouraged to wear yellow to school to show their support for Respect.

At the end of the month, two students from each classroom will be recognized at an assembly for their stellar demonstration of respectful behavior.

Each month, another pillar will be featured at school.
