Soroptimist International of Mariposa is currently recruiting new members.  Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.  Soroptimist’s motto is “improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.”

In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating high school seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, providing scholarships for children to attend Mariposa County Parks and Recreation’s summer day camp, and donating funds and services to local organizations including Manna House, Habitat for Humanity, Mountain Crisis, Ethos and CASA.
