Mariposa County Board of Supervisors (BOS) Meeting for October 4, 2011 (With Audio)
Due to Budget Cuts there will be no coffee served at the future BOS meetings. The Supervisors agreed on audio streaming the BOS meetings. This will begin possibly in January 2012. The County Auction held over the weekend raised slightly over $700.00. Supervisor Janet Bibby mentioned she would like to see the Utility bills for the new Human Services Building. Supervisor Lyle Turpin is out on Medical.

Mariposa County Board of Supervisors move to ban Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Collective and Cooperative Medical Marijuana Cultivation in the county.
On a 3-1 Vote with Supervisor Lee Stetson voting no and Supervisor Lyle Turpin excused from the meeting the Board of Supervisors (BOS) voted on Tuesday morning, October 11, 2011 to begin the process of banning Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Collective and Cooperative Medical Marijuana Cultivation in the county. Officially the BOS Adopted a Resolution of Intention Initiating Amendment to the Mariposa County Zoning Ordinance Title 17 to Define and Regulate Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Collective and Cooperative Medical Marijuana Cultivation.

Mariposa County Sheriff Department Illegal Marijuana Interdiction Program (With Audio)
On Thursday, October 6, 2011 the Sheriff Department along with the Merced County Sheriff Department and the California Highway Patrol began a three day program to stop illegal Marijuana growing and transporting along the Highway 140 corridor and the lowlands of the county.

On Sunday, October 9, 2011 one of the guest speakers at the Mariposa Museum and History Center's Annual membership meeting and potluck was Marsha Crawford, known as 'Yeshe'. Marsha who is an artist, restorer and preservationist is the artist who was commissioned to restore the painted murals inside the Gold Coin in Mariposa, California.
