During Flag Day in Mariposa there will be a Public Ceremony and a demonstration on United States Flag Etiquette at the Fairgrounds

On Flag Day, June 14, 2012 American Legion Post 567 and VFW Post 6042 will present the approved ceremony for the proper disposition of United States flags which are no longer suitable for display. Such flags may be deposited in a receptacle located at the VFW hall or given to any member of either organization to be disposed of correctly.

The formal ceremony will be held at the Mariposa Fairgrounds starting at 2:00 P.M. and flag pamphlets will be distributed to each family attending. There is no charge and is only promoting the proper respect and care of our national emblem. This is a rarely seen program. Special participants have been invited as speakers or performers. You don’t want to miss this!
