Congressman Jeff Denham Issues Statement Celebrating U.S. Army’s 237th Birthday

June 11, 2012 - WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) released the following video message in honor of the 237th birthday of the United States Army on June 14, 2012:

“It is my honor as a veteran to thank the brave men and women of our armed services for carrying on the mission of keeping America strong and secure for well over 200 years, continuing to protect our nation from enemies worldwide.

“237 years ago, Congress authorized the formation of 10 rifle companies from Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. Their mission has remained constant – dedication to the preservation of our freedoms, and the defense of our great country.

“Your legacy continues as the backbone of our military strength. Happy 237th Birthday United States Army. HOOAHH!!”
