Lend A Hand With The Merced River Cleanup On September 15, 2012

The community is invited to join in the Kim Evans Memorial Great Sierra River Clean Up on Saturday, September 15. This yearly event is a joint effort of the Bureau of Land Management, Don Evans, Sierra Nevada Conservancy, Sierra Foothill Conservancy, Upper Merced River Watershed Council, Yosemite Area Audubon, and Mariposans for the Environment and Responsible Government. People of all ages and abilities can participate. The
Volunteers may meet in the Briceburg parking lot or the El Portal Market in El Portal at 9 a.m. At that time, an individual, family, or other group can select an area to work. Trash bags and a small number of trash grabbers and gloves will be available. Please bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and your own grabbers and gloves if possible.
