Mariposa County Health Department Issues Increased Flu Warning
In the west we are seeing an increase in the number of people affected by influenza, especially the elderly. Please stay home, and limit contact with elderly people who are susceptible to severe complications from influenza, if you have the following symptoms.
Fever with any of the following:
• Cough
• Nasal congestion
• Body aches
• Sore throat
• Household contact to flu
Also, by staying home, you will not be as likely to spread the illness to your coworkers and co-workers’ families.
The Mariposa County Health Department still has flu shots available. They are being offered on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and on the 2nd Tuesday of each month between 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. You can also check the local pharmacies and clinics for available flu shots. Please call 209-966-3689 or 1-800-459-4466 for more information. Remember to wash your hands with soap and water - and rub your hands for 15 to 20 seconds. If no water or soap are available, use hand sanitizer.
