Best Midterm September on Record; $163.9 Million Raised This Cycle Through September

October 20, 2014 - WASHINGTON –  Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus has announced that the RNC raised $13.5 million in September, making it the RNC’s best midterm September on record for fundraising. The RNC received more in online donations in September than it did in all of 2013. The RNC continues to outpace the DNC for the cycle. The committee’s strong fundraising record has allowed it to transfer funds to the NRSC, NRCC, and state parties. To capitalize on the growing Republican momentum, the RNC has also taken out a $5 million loan to support candidates in the final days of the election.

“September’s fundraising exceeded expectations—even after the tremendous support we’ve received throughout the year,” said Chairman Priebus. “As always, I want to extend my thanks to all who have generously given to the RNC and put their trust in Republicans. We continue to have unprecedented financial success thanks to our gracious and motivated donors who want nothing more than to take back the United States Senate.

“As a result of our successful fundraising, the RNC has been able to help our partners at the NRSC and NRCC, as well as put more money into targeted races to help with crucial get out the vote efforts on the ground and online. We’re doubling down by taking out a loan to ensure our sister committees and state parties have the resources for important on-the-ground efforts.

“The American people are not happy with the way things are going in Washington, D.C. They’re frustrated with the gridlock in Harry Reid’s Democrat Senate and increasingly concerned about our national security. Voting for a Democrat is voting for President Obama’s policies and more of the same, and that’s why Republicans continue to have the momentum in this election. We’re standing with the American people on the issues they care about—from jobs and healthcare to energy and national security.”
