Best Midterm August on Record; $150.4 Million Raised This Cycle

September 20, 2014 - WASHINGTON –  Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus today announced that the RNC raised $10.1 million in August, making it the RNC’s best midterm August on record for fundraising. The RNC has raised $150.4 million for the 2014 cycle thus far and has $14.5 million cash on hand. As of the last report, the RNC had outpaced the DNC by almost $15 million for the cycle.

“As we head into the final stretch of this election year, I want to thank all of our supporters for helping us break a new fundraising record and, more importantly, continue to make the investments necessary to help our great slate of candidates win in November,” said Chairman Priebus.

“Our focus is on offering our candidates the on-the-ground support they need to engage with their communities and to get out the vote. We’re supporting the work of nearly 1,500 people in the field. By making early investments, we’ve been able to supply our candidates with superior data and new voter contact apps and tools, and we’ve been able to expand the map so that we have multiple paths to taking back the Senate.

“Our mission from now until Election Day will be reminding voters that a vote for a Democrat candidate is a vote for the failed Obama agenda and Harry Reid’s dysfunctional leadership. Unlike the Democrat Senate, which has spent its time lately trying to rewrite the First Amendment while ignoring over 40 House jobs bills, a Republican Senate will vote on legislation to lower healthcare costs, expand school choice, create jobs, secure the border, and improve energy security. Those are the priorities of the American people, and those are the priorities of the Republican Party.”
