The Las Mariposas Civil War Days re-enactment in Mariposa, California that was held the weekend of April 16-17, 2011 enjoyed fabulous weather as the high temps were in the 70's with plenty of sunshine.The sound of cannon fire could be heard throughout  the day as the sound ricocheted off of the surrounding foothills during the battles. There was a period village set up with friendly merchants available to answer questions.The North and South camps could also be walked through as the troops rested from the battles that were held during the day.
