Santa Claus at the 2011 Mariposa Lion's Club Annual Bon Fire and Christmas Tree Lighting
Santa arrived in Mariposa on a brightly lit fire truck Saturday evening, December 10, 2011. As the fire truck rolled up to the courthouse children were running to see Santa Claus. Santa greeted everyone and took time out of his busy schedule to listen to all the children's Christmas wishes. A few of the children came fully prepared as they had their Christmas list with them.
Before Santa arrived a big bon fire was burning to show Santa the way and to warm the residents as they gathered around the fire. There were even some Christmas Carolers getting everyone in the holiday spirit by singing some Christmas songs. The Lion's Club provided free hot dogs and popcorn along with coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider. The live Christmas tree was wonderfully decorated with many Christmas lights and festive holiday bows.
After visiting with Santa many of the children enjoyed climbing onto the fire truck. They were allowed to ring the bell and imagine what it would be like to drive the big red fire engine. When Santa was finished listening to everyone's Christmas wishes he was thanked by many for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit us in Mariposa.
