12 6 19 MMHCThe Mariposa Museum and History Center will be hosting a volunteer tour guide training event
on Friday, December 6 from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.  Potential volunteers will see what it’s like
to be a tour guide during one of the museum’s school tours. As part of its educational mission,
the Mariposa Museum hosts over 2,000 students on school field trips annually. Students come from
Fresno, Madera, Merced, Tuolumne, and Mariposa Counties to learn about the California Gold Rush,
Yosemite, local Native American History, and Mariposa’s important role in California History.

The museum needs volunteers to help run school tours on Thursdays and Fridays from October thru May.
Tour guide opportunities vary and no experience is necessary! Volunteers may choose to work morning,
afternoon, or all day shifts. The museum will train anyone with a desire to learn and give back to the community.

For more information or to RSVP please contact Sheryl at the museum (209) 966-2924
