Soroptimist International of Mariposa is busily planning a one-day-only Christmas home tour for Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This tour combines a mix of traditional, contemporary, and very unique homes. The tour is about the holiday spirit, and the willingness of people to open up their homes for a good cause.  Proceeds will benefit Soroptimist International of Mariposa community scholarships, with 10% of the proceeds to be donated to the Friends of the Library.

Tickets are $12.00 and available at Happy Burger Diner, Trent’s Styling for His and Hers, Starchman & Bryant Attorneys at Law, and from any Mariposa Soroptimist member.   Purchase of a ticket includes a soup lunch at the Senior Center.  The Hospital Volunteers will be holding their craft sale at the Senior Center and newly released Soroptimist cookbooks will also be available for purchase.

Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.  In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, sponsoring The Elegant Dress Closet, and donating funds to organizations such as Manna House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to all in need.
