Fremont Healthcare District is offering a Nursing Assistant Training Program.  The start date of the training program is Monday, January 20, 2020.  It is an eight-week paid on-the-job training program in which trainees are hired as temporary employees.  Trainees will earn the current minimum wage during the training program, and upon satisfactory completion of the educational requirements and successfully passing the State’s nursing assistant exam will continue as a JCF employee, and their hourly rate increases to $13.76, the base rate of pay for Level I Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA’s).

The District provides trainees’ books, a uniform, equipment, fingerprinting fee and the State’s certification test fee.  Persons applying for this job training program must meet the State’s criteria for nursing assistant certification as well as the District’s employment criteria, which includes: a background check, drug and alcohol testing, and a physical.  The District is a drug-free workplace.  Candidates must be 18 years old by the start of the program and be a high school graduate or GED equivalent. The program is limited to 8 students. Nursing Assistants are utilized in the skilled nursing, home health and hospice, and med-surg departments of the District. 

Applying for the program is a two-step process: applicants must attend the orientation meeting on Friday, November 22nd, @ 1:30 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. in the Administrative Board Room at John C Fremont Hospital. The address is 5189 Hospital Road, Mariposa, CA.
