FCSO TLindsayOn July 7th, property crimes detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office began a burglary investigation at a home located near Tollhouse Road and Nees Ave. in Clovis. Items stolen included: Several rifles, scopes, large amounts of ammunition, power tools and a credit card. The rifles and scopes have an estimated value of $50,000.

The next day, the victim alerted detectives to charges being made on their stolen credit card. Detectives were able to trace the transactions to businesses in Tulare County. One of which was a convenience store in Earlimart. Detectives visited the store and obtained surveillance video showing a man, later known to be Tielman Lindsay, using the credit card. The video also captured images of Lindsay’s car and its license plate. Detectives researched the plate and discovered it belonged to a Hyundai Sonata rental car in San Bernardino. Detectives were led to believe Lindsay had taken the rental plates and placed them on his Hyundai Elantra, which would later be determined to have been stolen in Fontana, CA. A ‘be on the lookout’ for this car and its armed and dangerous driver was issued to all law enforcement agencies.

On the night of July 9th, Fontana Police officers spotted the stolen Hyundai on the road. Inside were Tielman and his wife Angela. Officers FCSO ALindsaytried to stop the car, but Tielman refused to pull over and sped away. Tielman eventually crashed. He and Angela got out of the car armed with an AR-15 and carjacked a woman and her two children. The Lindsays took off in her car, leaving them behind. Tielman lead officers on a 45-minute-long pursuit before finally coming to a stop. The couple got out and attempted to carjack another person, but Fontana Police officers quickly moved in to prevent them from doing so. While trying to take Tielman into custody, he began to fight with officers. They eventually arrested both Tielman and Angela.

Officers searched inside the Hyundai and found all of the rifles and ammunition stolen from Clovis. Fontana Police contacted Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives and provided them with an update. Detectives travelled to Fontana, collected the stolen items and returned them to their rightful owner.

A search of Tielman Lindsay’s records showed he is a convicted felon who is currently wanted on 17 felony charges in Arizona. Tielman and Angela will remain in San Bernardino County to face their most recent charges related to the pursuit and carjackings.
