August 4, 2021 - On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, thirty-nine-year-old Eric David Mills of Redwood City was booked at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for the murder of fifty-two-year-old Teodoro Gutierrez of Modesto.
On January 1, 2021, Gutierrez was located deceased inside of his vehicle at the intersection of W. Monte Vista Avenue and S. Carpenter Road in Modesto. It was determined Gutierrez sustained a fatal gunshot wound while in the driver's seat, by Mills who was outside of the vehicle. A warrant for arrest of Mills was issued in April.
In June, Mills was taken into custody and booked at the San Mateo County Jail for charges unrelated to the homicide in Stanislaus County. At the conclusion of his other legal matters, he was arrested pursuant to his warrant for the murder of Gutierrez.
