SCSO arrest

September 5, 2021 - On Saturday, September 4, 41-year-old Andrew Satariano of Modesto was arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit in east county. He was booked for seventeen violations, including possession of firearms, evading police, possession of drugs, warrants, and fleeing the scene of a vehicle accident.

Deputies responded to the 5700 block of Crabtree Road in Waterford for the report of a person inside of a vehicle on private property. The reporting party did not know if the person inside was breathing. Additional information was received that the male was breathing and brandished a rifle, and that a nude female entered the vehicle.

While deputies were on their way to the location, they were informed the vehicle was associated to Andrew Satariano who had felony arrest warrants for possession of a firearm and evading law enforcement.

The vehicle being driven by Satariano was located on Crabtree Road. He sped away from arriving deputies, stopped the vehicle and let the female passenger out of the car, then fled again at a high rate of speed. The female was later located and released with no injuries or criminal charges.

Satariano led deputies on a vehicle pursuit from Crabtree Road to Reservoir Road, until he caused a collision with himself and two other vehicles. Once his vehicle came to a rest, he ran south of the Tuolumne River and attempted to conceal himself.

With the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Air Support Unit and Canine Unit, Satariano was apprehended. Prior to being booked at the Public Safety Center, Satariano was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance. Two of the three people involved in the vehicle collision were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Satariano was booked for charges related to evading law enforcement, resisting arrest, felony hit and run, possession of drugs, transporting drugs, theft of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, trespassing, prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possessing drugs inside of a jail facility, and three felony warrants.
