LAPD hit and run1

October 26, 2021 - Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a felony hit and run suspect.

On October 25, 2021, at around 6:40 a.m., a pedestrian was crossing north on Grand Avenue at Gage Avenue when she was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer was turning right onto Gage Avenue from northbound Grand Avenue when the collision occurred. The Hit and Run driver fled the scene without stopping, rendering aid, or identifying him or herself.

The tractor-trailer appears to have a late model, dark-colored cab with a possible company logo affixed to the driver-side door. The trailer appears to be white in color with apparent numbers and/or lettering to the front and sides.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and observed the pedestrian to be suffering from multiple severe injuries. The victim was treated but succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at scene. The victim’s identity has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
