January 12, 2022 - The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office reports in Rancho Cucamonga an armed suspect charged deputies resulting in an officer involved shooting with the suspect pronounced San Bernardino County Sheriff logodeceased at the scene.

DATE/TIME: January 10, 2022, 2:08 p.m.

INCIDENT: Officer Involved Shooting

LOCATION: 7700 block of Victoria Gardens Lane, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Name Withheld Pending Next of Kin Notification

SUMMARY: On January 10, 2022, personnel from the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division were working in conjunction with U.S. Marshall’s personnel to locate and apprehend a suspect wanted for attempted murder in Grand Terrace.

The suspect was located in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 7700 block of Victoria Gardens Lane. The suspect initially refused to comply with commands to exit the vehicle. A less lethal round was deployed into the vehicle. The suspect suddenly exited the vehicle, armed with a knife, and ran at the Sheriff’s Deputies and U.S. Marshall Inspector. An officer involved shooting occurred. Medical aid was rendered at the scene. The suspect succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators with Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and are conducting the investigation.
