January 4, 2023 – The Placer County Sheriff's Office has reported the following. A brave 12-year-old girl from Foresthill saw her mother having a seizure in their home and immediately sprang into action.

On the evening of December 15th, Elle Procopio, the eldest of her four sisters, heard her siblings screaming and crying. She ran to them and saw that their mother, 30-year-old Tori Procopio, had suffered a seizure. Tori was in the bathtub giving her youngest daughter, four-month-old Huntley, a bath when she felt a seizure coming on. Tori immediately took Huntley out of the bathtub and laid her on the floor before running to her bedroom and collapsing on her bed due to the seizure. Elle called 911 immediately while her younger sister, ten-year-old Keelie, ran to a neighbor who is a registered nurse, to get help. Their younger sister, eight-year-old Paislee, held baby Huntley and cared for her, and their younger sister, four-year-old Delaney. Amid all the chaos, Elle said she tried to hold it together for her siblings, and her quick actions ultimately saved her mother.

Our responding deputies recognized how brave the sisters were and rewarded them through Operation Secret Santa. We are so proud of Elle and her sisters for stepping up when their father was at work; Tori and her husband are lucky parents to these responsible girls!
