March 1, 2023 – Ventura County Sheriff’s Office officials reported that on February 27, 2023, three juveniles were traveling on an off-road electric motorcycle northbound in the southbound bicycle lane of Via Las Brisas, approaching the intersection of Via Grande. The second vehicle involved, a Sport Utility Vehicle, was turning right onto Via Grande from southbound Via Las Brisas. The motorcycle collided with the front of the vehicle in the unmarked crosswalk on the west side of the intersection. All juveniles were ejected and suffered major injuries due to the collision.
Emergency personnel immediately responded to the scene and provided care. All three juveniles were transported by ambulance to the nearest trauma center. The driver of the Sport Utility Vehicle did not sustain any injuries. The collision is still under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Department Traffic Bureau.
