March 8, 2023 -  Monterey County Sheriff's Office officials reported that on Monday, March 6th at 7:33 A.M., medical units were dispatched to the 300 block of Espinosa Road, Salinas in unincorporated Monterey County.

When medical personnel arrived on scene, they discovered a deceased male subject outside the residential structure who had a suspected gunshot wound. Medical personnel requested law enforcement personnel to the scene and when deputies from the Sheriff's Office arrived on scene, they conducted a search of the area and residential structure at which time they located a deceased female inside the residence from a suspected gunshot wound.

Deputies secured the scene and requested the Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit who then began the forensic collection of evidence and their analysis of the scene. Although preliminary investigative information indicates the incident to be a Homicide/Suicide this investigation is ongoing. However, at this time it is believed there are no outstanding suspects related to this case and no additional threat to public safety exists.
