Homicide Investigation – Lemon Grove 

March 19, 2023 -  San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on March 18, 2023, just before 10:00 p.m., deputies responded to a radio call of a shooting at the 2800 block of Lemon Grove Avenue. Deputies arrived in the area and located a 39-year-old male, unconscious in a vehicle at the intersection of Lemon Grove Ave. and San Miguel Ave.

As deputies were taking the unconscious man out of the vehicle, they noticed he had gunshot wounds to his left upper leg and lower torso. Deputies applied a tourniquet to the victim's leg as paramedics arrived. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injures.

The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility of the investigation. The identity of the victim is known but being withheld at this time. Based on information gathered so far, this appears to be an isolated incident. Currently there is no suspect information. The motivation and circumstances are still under investigation.
