Crime Stoppers: Shooting - San Marcos 

May 10, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff Department officials report that detectives from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station and San Diego County Crime Stoppers want your help in finding out who was responsible for a shooting near a sports park.

It happened on Monday, May 8 just before 8:00 p.m. near Mission Sports Park located in the 900 block of Bailey Court in San Marcos. Deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station responded to the scene after getting reports of someone discharging a firearm near the park. Deputies searched the area, but didn't find anyone who had been shot or was hurt.

Surveillance video from one of the baseball fields at the park captured audio of what sounded like gunfire, as well as some kind of projectile hitting the field. View the video on Twitter here.

Sheriff's Detectives would like to talk to anyone who witnessed the shooting or has surveillance video that may have captured the incident. If you have any information, call the San Marcos Sheriff's Station at (760) 510-5200.
