May 13, 2023 - Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) personnel has concluded their tactical response regarding an armed barricaded suspect near the 7900 block of Bright Avenue, in the city of Whittier.

SEB responded to assist Whittier PD regarding a barricaded suspect. The incident was reported Saturday, May 13, 2023, at approximately 12:53 a.m.

SEB personnel assumed tactical command and with the assistance of the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) contacted the suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody.

There is no additional information available at this time.

The area was deemed safe, and all neighborhood evacuees were allowed to return to their homes.
