Robbery at Local Business Leads to Pursuit 

May 19, 2023 – Riverside County Sheriff Office officials report that on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 8:30 p.m., deputies from the Riverside riverside county sheriff logoSheriff’s Moreno Valley Station responded to a robbery at a business in the 12700 Block of Moreno Beach Boulevard in the City of Moreno Valley. Three suspects entered the above location, selected several items, and attempted to leave without paying. An employee who tried to stop them was pushed to the floor, resulting in an injury. The suspects exited the store and entered an awaiting Kia Forte.

At about 8:46 p.m., the vehicle was located in the area of Gilman Springs Road and Sanderson Avenue in the Hemet County area. A stop of the suspect vehicle was attempted, and the vehicle failed to yield; therefore, a pursuit was initiated. At the termination of the pursuit, the driver fled and was apprehended. Deputies determined the vehicle was reported stolen out of Los Angeles.

The adult driver of the vehicle, Manuel Tatum, an 18-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and felony evading. The other three suspects, who were juveniles, were located in the area of South San Jacinto Avenue and East Commonwealth Avenue. The three juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall for robbery and conspiracy.
