May 23, 2023 - El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, Deputies responded to Target in Placerville for a reported theft of over $1,000 in merchandise. Two female suspects exited the store with two shopping carts full of unpaid items and fled the scene in a silver-colored sedan. With the assistance of Placerville CHP, the suspect vehicle was located and stopped a short time later.

Both suspects were arrested for felony organized retail theft and grand theft. The suspects were booked into the El Dorado County Jail, and their vehicle was towed. All of the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store, with a total value of approximately $2,200.
