October 11, 2023 – Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials report on a fire that broke out inside a training facility during a training exercise.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., there was a fire at a training facility located at the Pitchess Detention Center, 29320 The Old Road, Castaic, CA.

Several deputies were transported to a local area hospital for injuries.

LASD Sheriff Robert Luna along with Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials held a press conference and provided additional information regarding the Pitchess Detention Center incident that critically injured 2 LASD Deputies during training.
