November 7, 2023 - San Bernardino County Sheriff Department officials report on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 9:16 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Canyon Road and Two Mile Road after a man walking his dog discovered what appeared to be human skeletal remains.  

Deputies responded and conducted an area check for any additional bones; however, none were located.  The Coroner’s Office also responded and determined the remains were those of a human but appeared to be historical. 

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division detectives assumed the investigation.
