November 19, 2023 - Orange County Sheriff's Department officials reported that the Lake Forest Police conducted a routine patrol check of Cavanaugh Park on November 7 at around 8:30 a.m. One of their deputies observed an occupied vehicle parked on Gowdy. Upon approaching the vehicle, she discovered two males asleep, with the passenger holding a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue. A subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants uncovered a 75-gallon nitrous oxide tank, a loaded syringe, switchblade knife, and additional narcotics, including 8 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 10 pounds of marijuana, 12 grams of methamphetamine, and 2.5 grams of fentanyl, along with oxycodone pills.

Following a thorough investigation, deputies decided to collect the evidence, issue a citation and release one of the occupants, while recommending the District Attorney pursue multiple drug-related and sales charges against the other occupant.

Grateful for our proactive deputies and their dedicated efforts to keep our community safe and remove these drugs from our streets!
