MAYDAY! MADAY! 

December 11, 2023 – Monterey County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a small aircraft making an emergency landing north of Gonzales.

Deputies along with fire crews responded. The plane was located, which had safely landed in an ag field. The pilot was not injured and no other passengers were on board. The pilot reported engine failure, but no other damage to the plane was caused by the emergency landing. The Federal Aviation Administration will be taking over the investigation.
