December 13, 2023 - El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office officials report that at 5:21 p.m. EDSO Deputies responded to the Best Western Hotel 6850 Green Leaf Dr. in Placerville for a report of and armed subject shooting on the hotel property. A hotel worker advised Central Dispatch that a female subject had fired multiple gunshots and walked towards the Mexican restaurant on the hotel property. 

Upon arriving at the hotel property, Deputies contacted the suspect, identified as Michele Jason, 77 years old of Monterey, CA inside Casa Los Abuelos restaurant. After an investigation was conducted, it was determined that Jason had fired one gunshot inside her hotel room and another in the direction of a hotel employee. Jason was subsequently arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail for attempt murder, assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a weapon.

There is no further information at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
