Fire Investigation in Spring Valley 

January 8, 2024 - San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials report that the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit is investigating a san diego county sheriff department logostructure fire in Spring Valley.

It happened on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at around 4:00 a.m. in the 8600 block of Eileen Street. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department received a call from a neighbor stating a house was on fire.   

Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station and firefighters from San Miguel Fire & Rescue responded and arrived in less than five minutes. They found the back of the home fully engulfed in flames. While putting out the fire, one deceased person was found inside the home.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit were called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. Currently, the fire is still under investigation.

The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit is a regional resource that investigates fires involving suspicious circumstances, serious injuries, and death.
