Major Injury Collision in Poway 

January 28, 2024 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Friday, January 26, 2024, at about 6:36 A.M., deputies were dispatched to investigate a single vehicle collision in the intersection of Tierra Bonita Road and Twin Peaks Road, Poway.  Deputies arrived on scene and determined a 68-year-old female was driving a 1994 Acura Legend westbound on Twin Peaks Road. 

The driver suffered an unknown medical emergency, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and collide with a traffic signal at the intersection of Twin Peaks Road and Tierra Bonita Road.  The driver suffered major injuries during the incident.  She was transported to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for further medical treatment.  

Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
