Fatal Traffic Collision with Road Closures 

February 12, 2024 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday February 11, 2024, at 12:42 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of Reche Vista Drive and Country Road in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies arrived and located a vehicle which had left the roadway, rolled, and caught fire.  Personnel from Cal Fire extinguished the flames and the accident investigation began. During the investigation, deputies located a subject with obvious signs of death in close proximity to the vehicle.  Based on this crash, road closures were needed on Reche Vista Drive between Country Road and Heacock Street until the completion of the investigation.

The Moreno Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the accident site and assumed the investigation. This case is ongoing and the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.  It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a part in this crash.
