Felony Vandalism in Ramona 

February 12, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that a man is facing serious charges after allegedly ramming his pickup truck into a gate at a San Diego County Sheriff's Substation. 

On Saturday, February 10, around 3:00 a.m., deputies from the Ramona Sheriff’s Substation contacted a group of six individuals at the intersection of La Brea and Ramona Streets. Three of the six were found to be in illegal possession of concealed firearms and narcotics and were placed under arrest. The other three individuals were released at the scene. 

One of those individuals who was arrested, Jorge Aguilar (21), is facing charges of carrying a concealed firearm. He was released from the Ramona Sheriff's Substation with a notice to appear in court. The two others who were arrested were booked on felony firearm and drug related charges.

At around 7:30 a.m., Aguilar returned to the Ramona Sheriff’s Substation in a pickup truck, rammed the back gate and fled the scene before deputies could respond. Deputies identified Aguilar as the driver of the vehicle thanks to nearby residents who witnessed the collision. Shortly thereafter, deputies located Aguilar's damaged truck parked at his home in Ramona.

Deputies contacted Aguilar and he was taken into custody without incident. Based on the severity of the damage caused to the gate, Aguilar is facing an additional charge of felony vandalism. He was booked at the San Diego Central Jail.
