Arrest of Home Invasion Robbery Suspect
February 22, 2024 - Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 4:59 a.m., deputies assigned to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 73000 block of Guadalupe Avenue, Palm Desert, regarding a report of a home invasion robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. During the investigation, deputies located the victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was later transported to a local hospital. Deputies were able to identify Carlos Quilon, a 43-year-old resident of Palm Desert, as the suspect, but he fled before their arrival.
On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., the Riverside County Gang Impact Team took Quilon into custody in the area of Highway 111 and Oasis Street in Indio. He was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, home invasion robbery, victim intimidation, and committing a felony while out on bail. Quilon’s bail was set at $1 million. There are no outstanding suspects in this case.
