Attempted Murder in Valley Center 

February 27, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Friday, February 23, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a shooting at the 7500 block of Mendoza Road on the Rincon Indian Reservation.   

Responding deputies located a 46-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, who was transported to the hospital by air ambulance. Deputies also detained a 31-year-old male and recovered a rifle at the scene.

The 31-year-old Valley Center resident, identified as Kyle Del Gregory, was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility. He is being held without bail and will face multiple felony charges to include attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
