Narcotics Delivery Service Investigation
March 2, 2024 - Ventura County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on March 1, 2024, detectives with the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit
arrested Cory Harding for operating an illegal narcotics delivery service which sold marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms to minors.
During the month of January 2024, the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit received an anonymous tip through Ventura County Crime Stoppers regarding a narcotics delivery service which sold marijuana to minors within the City of Camarillo. The delivery service utilized social media to advertise and promote their products. During the investigation, we identified evidence which validated the information provided by the anonymous tip and further discovered the delivery service was also selling psilocybin mushrooms to minors.
During a search warrant service of Harding’s residence and vehicle, a large amount of marijuana, marijuana vape products, and psilocybin mushrooms were located and seized. Harding was also in possession of a large amount of U.S. currency believed to be the proceeds of illegal narcotics sales. Harding was present at his residence during the search warrant service and taken into custody.
Harding was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail for violations of Health and Safety Code 11361(b) / Sales of Marijuana to a minor, Health and Safety Code 11360 / Transportation of Marijuana for sales, Health and Safety Code 11359(b) / Possession of marijuana for sales, 11378 / Possession of psilocybin mushrooms for sale, and 11379(a) / Transportation of Psilocybin mushrooms for sale. Harding will be in custody pending court proceedings with a bail of $50,000.
The Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit is comprised of a sergeant and four detectives, whose focus is assisting patrol services with the investigation of various crimes including, but not limited to, the investigation of illegal firearms, gang related crimes, and graffiti vandalism.
