March 5, 2024 - San Diego Police Department officials report that they are investigating a string of residential burglaries in the Mira Mesa neighborhood. As of March 4th, there have been eight burglaries which investigators believe are related due to the suspects’ method of operation.

The suspects appear to target mostly corner houses. After identifying the target location, the suspects enter the home through a rear sliding glass door. In several cases, the glass on the door was broken to gain entry. The sliding glass door was left unsecured in at least one instance, allowing the suspects to enter. The suspects then ransacked the homes and took safes, cash, and jewelry.

The suspects are seen taking a large safe from one of the victim’s homes. The suspects loaded the safe in what appears to be a small, late-model, possibly dark-colored SUV before leaving the scene. Also included in the comments is a photograph of a man believed to be involved in the burglaries.

Based on the information gathered thus far, the suspects all appear to be men in their late teens or early twenties. Community members in the Mira Mesa neighborhood are encouraged to call police immediately if they see any vehicles matching the one in the video or if they see suspicious activities they believe should be evaluated by police.

Anyone with information regarding these burglaries should contact Lt. David Bautista via
